Chennai based Thenindiya Nadigar Sangam comprises of actors from Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. But in the other states, there are separate actors associations in Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka. Also, actors of other languages apart from Tamil, cannot be dictated to by Thenindiya Nadigar Sangam.
Therefore, a notion to change the name of Thenindiya Nadigar Sangam to Thamizh Nadigar Sangam has been there for quite a while. At a recent function, treasurer Radharavi announced that Thenindiya Nadigar Sangam would soon be changed to Thamizh Nadigar Sangam.
Since a name change would involve lot of formalities and changes in rules, Radharavi said the new name Thamizh Nadigar Sangam would be in big letters and Thenindiya Nadigar Sangam would be alongside in smaller letters.
Since Thamizh is present, there would be cooperation from the CM too!
