'Subramaniapuram' is produced and directed by Sasi Kumar who used to assist Bala and Ameer.  Jai is the hero of the film and Swathi, a presenter in MAA TV in Andhra Pradesh, is introduced as the heroine.  Director Sasi Kumar himself is acting in this film along with others that include Ganja Karuppu and Samudrakani.  James Vasanthan is the debut music director and the lyrics are written by Yuga Bharathi and Thamarai.

The songs release function was held this morning at Sathyam cinema. The songs were released jointly by directors Ameer, Karu Pazhaniappan, Simbudevan, Vetrimaran and the Producers' Council president RamaNarayanan.

Jai, Sasi Kumar

It is gathered that the story is about the events that took place in the 80s in Subramaniapuram near Madurai.  The song sequences screened showed the events of that period.  It also showed the care taken by the director and cinematographers besides the director in setting the scene, the clothes, hair dressing and grooming of that period.

The lyrics by Thamarai for the song

"kangal irandal - un kangal irandal ennai katti izhuthai - izhuthai" has an instant appeal.
