He has worked as assistant to 'Dinamthorum' Nagaraj, Bharagavan and so on. This is his first film as director.
Vasan Karthik was hero of 'Maamadurai' and in 'Iyyan' he plays a strong, angry young man character.
'Pithamagan' Mahadevan, Shanmugarajan, Sevvazhai Raja, 'Onbadhu Rubai Nottu' Nitish Pandian, 'Kalloori' Bharani, Singamuthu, Halwa vasu, Supergood Lakshmanan, Muthukaalai, Subburaj, Soundar, Nellai Siva, Vijaya Ganesh, Sribavan, master Shankar and others are also in the cast.
The heroine is still to be finalised for the Ariyaselvi character to pair with this young hero of the masses. Based on rural life, the film has music by maestro Ilayaraja.
