"Naan thaan Gopalakrishnannu sollukiren..." is the dialogue that one is reminded of at the 'Dasavataram' audio release. The press had such a hard time

At any function, the press is given most importance but at the 'Dasavataram' function, it was just the opposite. Despite showing the invitation at the gates to the Nehru Indoor Stadium, the police made the press run from one spot to another.  They ended up at the last entry point finally after being sent to every other entry spot.

There was a mile long queue there and an inspector told the press to stand in that line to gain admittance. Despite one reporter showing his id and saying that they being the press they had to get in fast, the inspector just ignored him short of actually pushing them all out.

Following this, one press person had to approach a higher police officer with their problem before they were all finally let in. Once in the stadium, the press had to go its allocated seats in the E gallery, along with rasikas. This made the reporters even more angry.

At one stage they were ready to walk out of the function but were unable to because of the strong police protection ring outside. Oscar Films prides itself on a grand function at an exorbitant cost, but why were the press people, who bring the news to the masses, treated so shabbily?

The actors did not fare better either. Madhavan, Narain, producer RB Chowdry were hanging around without a seat for ages. They were about to walk out when the organisers spotted the problem and hurried to seat them. Touted as a grand function, one spotted very few from the film field.

The highlight of all this comedy is, during the function, producer Oscar Ravichandran was happy at his office in Ashok Nagar!
