Masilamani
This is the story of a man who switches identity to impress his sweetheart. Director RNR Manohar has done a neat job of it, making it a good commercial venture.
If a tea shop owner wants to eat at a five star hotel, what happens? What Nakul wants is like that. Housing board resident Nakul is in love with dance teacher Sunaina. He chases her and she drives him away. Should Sunaina turn up every time Nakul is fighting? So he just looks at Sunaina and the opportunity is lost. This creates an aversion in Sunaina for Nakul. To show her that he is a good person, Nakul switches identity. At the end of the drama, Nakul gets a pass mark and that forms the climax scene.
Nakul has done a neat job in the director's commercial track. The episodes where he calls himself Masi and Mani to escape from Sunaina's wrath are quite interesting. This is the second time Sunaina is pairing with Nakul. Whether she is boiling with anger or soft in love, she has done a beautiful job. Even in the song sequences, she touches our hearts, with her beauty.
Apart from the hero's antics, we have Santhanam, Karunaas and MS Bhasker to have us in splits. After a long time, D Iman shines in his music. "Oh Divya Oh Divya," "Tora tora" are rocking. Cinematography is also a strong point in the film.
Though lacking in logic, 'Maasilamani' is a good time pass.
